Chris, I think everyone is a little paranoid and highly sensitive about being culled or unfollowed on the heels of Scoble's oafish and unnecessarily mean and insulting unfollowing bit on Twitter the other night. I say hold off or better yet, don't tell anyone you're doing it.

I didn't even realize I'd been dropped until now. I thought you had a FB Page but realize you apparently don't. Why not start one so that at least people can be Fans? I have many friends that have done that. I guess I appreciate iJustine even more for keeping me as one of her 5k friends all of these years. :)

Chris, thank you for being so honest and open, as always. I am so glad to see that you are willing to share what is going on; we all can learn so much from the way you interact out here in social media land - and the way you are so warm in person. Thanks for the personal message. I hope FB can find a way to work out these limits now that so many are actively using the tool.

Have you talked to other folks whom have reached there friend limit, to see what they do? It seems like this is one of those things that's like.. a very kinda sensitive place.. I mean.. so easy to make someone feel they don't matter.. One of the things I REALLY admire about you is your ability to make people feel like they matter.. like they're not just another number... Seems like its sooo core to your personal brand that it's potentially more of a sensitive thing for you then it would be for the next guy...

Also.. if I felt like I was just a number.. or if someone made me feel that way.. if there content is still important to me I'll come back to them.. but while I'm smarting from it.. I'd probably be tuned out for a bit.. so I might not get this message.. So I wonder how to approach this group.. if you might want to take a step beyond this.. I don't know.. I know I qualify as "a highly sensitive person" so maybe that next step stuff is just me, I don't know..

Yeah, Chris. Sounds like a Facebook Page is the way to go for you. That way your fans can still interact with you there and you don't have to sweat the 5K limit.

I saw your mug come up a few times on my Facebook page as a suggestion to friend you since we mutually follow many of the same podcasters and social medial celebs. Never felt the urge to click so no need to unfriend me.

And Chris, you don't feel anyone is worthy enough on Posterous to subscribe too?

I can't speak for Chris but I would say it's not the people on Posterous that are unworthy, it's the platform. I believe some of what motivated Chris to cull on FB, aside from size limitations, is the desire to streamline the number of subscriptions and inputs. I have had a Posterous account for months and hardly use it. I had no idea you could subscribe to a person or leave a verbal message for that matter. A far as I know, anyone I would subscribe to on Posterous I already subscribe to elsewhere and see their posts in that venue. The people that are solely on Posterous are not unworthy to me, they are unknown to me.

Hey, that's a good problem to have. People want to read your content and don't want to miss out on anything. There are times that I come across your stuff via Facebook first, so I do find it's an applicable channel for me to learn from your experience.
